At Black Hat USA 2024, we continued to focus on our commitment to helping companies modernize their IT and security data strategies and avoid vendor lock-in through several strategic partnership announcements. We are an integrations company at heart, and believe that interoperability and our vendor-agnostic approach empowers customers to choose best-of-breed solutions. By partnering with industry leaders like Anomali, Securonix, Anvilogic, and Vijilan Security, we’re enhancing cybersecurity capabilities, optimizing data management, and delivering cost-effective, scalable solutions to tackle the complexities of today’s cyber threats and data growth concerns.

Jackie McGuire Discusses the Need for Data Strategy Modernization

During Black Hat, Cribl’s Senior Security Strategist Jackie McGuire joined theCube and talked about our Swiss Army Knife approach to data, emphasizing that our products help customers develop a data maturity model that allows them to assess their current state and plan for future improvements as their data is compounding at 28% growth per year.

“We’ve moved more towards storage and discovery because that’s the next problem that we see,” she said. “We launched Cribl Lake, which is a managed lake product that literally within a minute you can spin up a lake without having to put a ticket into IT. All of the identity and access management pushes down from Cribl Cloud. So, it removes a huge hurdle to establishing object storage.”

Why Generative AI Needs Access to the Best Data to Make an Impact in Security

While at Black Hat, I joined the Dark Reading News Desk with Anomali’s Anthony Aurigemma to discuss our new strategic partnership, solving challenges around data silos, and why generative AI needs access to the best data to make its maximum impact in security. You can watch the highlights in the video above.

Cribl Introduces New Integration with Anvilogic’s Multi-Data Platform SIEM

Cribl has integrated its Stream and Edge products with Anvilogic’s multi-data platform SIEM. This collaboration enhances security operations centers (SOCs) by offering flexible, cost-efficient data management and routing capabilities. The integration allows SOCs to maintain existing SIEM processes while leveraging a scalable data lake for threat detection and compliance. Customers can optimize data ingestion, close visibility gaps, and deploy high-fidelity detections efficiently. This partnership is part of Cribl’s Technology Alliance Partner Program, aimed at transforming data management strategies.

“We are proud to partner with Cribl to deliver a best-of-breed SOC stack that is as easy to manage as traditional all-in-one SIEM solutions,” said Omer Singer, Vice President of Strategy at Anvilogic. “As security leaders increasingly prioritize flexibility and optionality, this new integration points the way towards leading data technologies serving the cybersecurity mission. Making this possible without disrupting customers’ existing SOC processes will continue to drive innovation for the exciting Cribl + Anvilogic collaboration.”

Vijilan Security and Cribl Announce Partnership to Transform Data Management for IT and Security

Cribl and Vijilan Security have announced a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing IT and security data management. This partnership leverages Cribl’s vendor-agnostic data management solutions with Vijilan’s managed security services to help enterprises efficiently control, process, and derive insights from their data. Key benefits include improved data routing, real-time data enrichment, and cost optimization.

“Data volumes continue to grow exponentially and are expected to reach 175 zettabytes by 2025,” said Kevin Nejad, founder and CEO of Vijilan Security. “This has implications for business, but also for security. Establishing a robust security posture involves, to no small degree, mastery over a sprawling data estate. This is the problem we are solving in our partnership with Cribl. We are providing an effective solution to the challenges faced by enterprises in managing and extracting value from data.”

“Data is the new oil, and its growth is both a blessing and a challenge for enterprises,” added Nejad. “Efficiently managing this data has become increasingly complex. This is where the value of the partnership with Cribl shines. Cribl’s solutions are designed specifically for IT and security teams to better control, process, and derive insights from their data.”

Securonix and Cribl Form Strategic Partnership to Bolster Threat Detection Against AI-powered Cyber Threats Through Expanded Data Ingestion Capabilities

Securonix and Cribl have formed a strategic partnership to enhance threat detection against AI-powered cyber threats. This collaboration enables organizations to utilize Cribl’s data management solutions to ingest a wider range of data into Securonix’s SIEM, bolstering cybersecurity capabilities. The integration allows for efficient data delivery from various enterprise areas to Securonix’s analytics, reducing the attack surface and addressing AI-enabled threats. The partnership also supports the interoperability of Cribl Edge and Securonix’s Unified Defense SIEM, enhancing overall cybersecurity operations.

Securonix has also joined the Cribl Technology Alliance Partner Program as well.

“Enterprises are faced with a dynamic and ever-expanding threat landscape,” said Michelle Abraham, Senior Research Director, Security and Trust at IDC. “Tools that monitor the growing attack surface have created an explosion of data for cybersecurity teams to examine to effectively protect their organizations from cyber threats and breaches. Improving cybersecurity analyst investigations with alert correlation and enrichment requires the interoperability and flexibility of advanced data management solutions and SIEMs so organizations can scale their cybersecurity operations.”
